Back to the Grind; School and Work

Avoid the following:

Don’t bend over with straight legs or twist when lifting.

Don’t try to lift objects above the height of your shoulders.

Following these steps will help maintain a healthy back:

Do get close to the load  and grasp firmly.

Do use your stomach muscles to support your spine so it can support the load.

Do keep your back straight and use your leg muscles to lift the load.

Do set the load down smoothly.
