Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Professor Tom Cosker is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, who gained his Completion of Specialist Training in 2011. He works at the Tumour Oncology Unit in the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford and has a specialist interest in Upper Limb Surgery and Reconstruction. He is Upper Limb Fellowship trained and completed a Fellowship at the Princess Elizabeth Orthopaedic Centre in Exeter under the mentorship of Professor Tim Bunker before travelling to the United States to undertake a further fellowship at the Moffit Cancer Centre.

Tom Cosker Work History

Tom has previously worked at Stoke Mandeville Hospital (Spinal Injuries, alongside some of the UK’s foremost spinal surgeons), High Wycombe Hospital (specialising in Arthroplasty and general orthopaedic trauma), Royal Berkshire Hospital (specialising in Upper Limb Surgery) and the John Radcliffe Hospital (specialising in General Orthopaedic Trauma).

Tom has published around 50 peer reviewed articles and has written more than 10 books and mini-guides, covering everything from shoulder surgery to career guidance for those seeking posts in Higher Surgical Training.

Throughout Tom’s professional career he has been interviewed and featured in a variety of publications.

Medicolegal Reporting

Tom also specialises in Medicolegal reporting and has undertaken several thousand reports in this field. The Medicolegal report is a critical component of personal injury claims and Tom has taken the process of producing professional medico-legal reports as seriously as his clinical practice. He is now often personally requested by the likes of ‘Lyons Davidson’ and ‘Cogent Law’ and is respected for his professionalism and attention to detail.

When you come to see Professor Cosker he will ask you detailed questions about your accident and the effect it has had on your life and your work. You may wish to bring someone with you who can help you remember the detail. You do not need to complete any questionnaires; it will be a history and an examination.
